Aqara FP2 Sensor – First Look

A new generation of motion sensor has arrived

By Josh Teder

I recently had the opportunity to get my hands on the Aqara FP2 Sensor, a new presence sensor that uses millimeter wave technology to detect human presence. I was excited to try it out and see how it could improve my smart home automations.

The FP2 Sensor is small and compact, making it easy to install anywhere in your home. It can be mounted on a wall or ceiling, or simply placed on a flat surface. Once it’s in place, you can use the Aqara app to set up the sensor and create automations based on its presence or absence.

I tested the FP2 Sensor in my bedroom and was impressed with its accuracy. It was able to detect my presence even when I was lying down or sitting still. I also created an automation that turned on the lights when I entered the room and turned them off when I left. This worked perfectly and made it much easier to control the lighting in my bedroom.

Unboxing the Aqara FP2 sensor

I’m still exploring all of the possibilities with the FP2 Sensor, but I’m already excited about the potential it has to improve my smart home. If you’re looking for a new way to automate your home, I highly recommend checking out the Aqara FP2 Sensor:
